In 2026, Garlo’s Pies celebrated 25 years of making one of Australia’s most iconic foods.
We wanted to mark the occasion with something bigger than a birthday party. Something uniquely Australian that brought together pies, sport, personalities and a seriously competitive edge.
So we created the Garlo’s Aussie Pie Eating Championship.
The inaugural Championship took over the Coogee Bay Hotel, bringing together everyday Aussies, rugby league legends and some of the world’s best competitive eaters to battle it out over Garlo’s Lean Beef Pies.
What started as a celebration of our first 25 years is now here to stay.
The Garlo’s Aussie Pie Eating Championship will return annually — bigger, louder and hungrier.
In its very first year, the Championship made history.
For a food so synonymous with Australia, the meat pie eating world record had been set overseas. At the inaugural Garlo’s Aussie Pie Eating Championship in Coogee, Australian competitive eater James Webb brought the record home.
